Shankar received his Bachelor of Technology (Honors) in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India.  He received his Masters degree in Computer Science at The University of Oklahoma in May, 2001.

Shankar’s research interest includes Energy Efficient Transaction Management for Mobile Heterogeneous Distributed Real Time Databases in Ad-hoc Environment.
