NEtwork MObility (NEMO)

Project Description
Host mobility protocols (e.g. MIPv6) have been proposed to solve the issues such as, session continuity and reacahbility that arise from the mobility of an IP-enabled host. Host mobility can be inefficient to manage the synchronous mobility of a group of hosts such as, hosts in a vehicle due to increased signaling, complexity in mangeability, and transmission power requirements. NEMO has been proposed to efficiently manage the mobility of a group of hosts. In this project, issues related to host mobility protocols, NEMO basic support protocol, and application of the protcol for space networks are examined.
