Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am a new graduate students in CS, what classes do I need to take? There are several things that you need to do to determine what classes you should to take. First, you should check the degree requirements for the degree that you are pursuing. You can find the degree requirements on the CS Website. This page has links to the requirements for the Master's and Doctorate Degree programs including a checklist of required and optional courses.

    The second thing to do is to check to see which courses are being offered. You can do this at OU's online enrollment system: enroll.ou.edu.

    Third, Meet with the Graduate Liason. The Graduate Liason can personally advise you on which courses to take. Note, if you already have a research relationship established with a professor, you may want to visit with your professor instead. They can advise you on which courses will help you in your research efforts.

  • How do I enroll in courses? To enroll in courses you must first initialize your OUNet account. Every student has a network account that is used to access many resources that you will use at OU such as email, course management software, enrollment, paying your bursar bill, etc. To activate your OUNet go to accounts.ou.edu and click on the "New Users: Activate your account here" link.

    Once you have activated your account you can go to enroll.ou.edu and register for courses online.

  • Where do I go to pay my tuition and fees? You can pay your tuition and fees (Bursar Bill) online at pay.ou.edu. Note, you must first activate your OUNet account (discussed above int he answer to the question about enrolling in courses).

  • Where is building Z or department X on campus? You can find a campus map at the OU Visitor Center. You can search the OU Website for more information at search.ou.edu.
  • Where can I park? Where do I get a parking permit? You can find out about parking at the parking office's website at parking.ou.edu
